The Vikings were handed another prize for their outstanding campaign last season
Anders Mol and Christian Sørum are already making noise in the 2018-2019 World Tour season, but their fabulous performance in 2017-2018 is still resonating. On Tuesday, the Norwegians were handed the award for Best Men’s Team of the 2017-2018 season at an event organized in collaboration with Red Bull Media House in Monaco.
The Beach Volley Vikings were dominant in the past season, taking home three gold medals in the Beach Volleyball Major Series – the Gstaad and Vienna Majors and the World Tour Finals in Hamburg. They were also crowned European champions in 2018.
The Norwegians also took home several other end-of-season awards with the 21-year-old Mol being selected as Most Outstanding Player, Best Blocker, Best Offensive Player and Most Improved Player while the 22-year-old Sørum claimed the Best Defensive Player prize.
The Europeans are now entering their off-season, but in three weeks they will head to Tenerife to start the preparation for the 2019 calendar year.
