In 2017 Vienna welcomed almost 180,000 people to the Danube Island for the World Championships - but in 2018, for the first time, the Austrian capital will host a five-star Major tournament.
Austria is home to some of the most loyal beach volleyball fans, and between July 31st and August 5th, thousands of fanatical spectators will watch 32 of the globe’s greatest teams per gender go head-to-head.
With a rich history in beach volleyball, Austria has proven itself to be one of the most renowed locations to host the sport. Clemens Doppler and Alex Horst won silver on home sand last year - further catapulting Austria into the hearts and minds of the beach volleyball community.
Last season's World Championships showcased the very best the country has to offer and, with one year's experience of hosting the tournament, 2018 promises to be just as exciting.

It won’t just be beach volleyball that will take center stage during the tournament – fans will also be treated to a number of attractions, exhibitions and Beach Party Nights.
Further details of these will be announced in the lead-up to the event.

As ever, the Vienna Major will have a big presence on social media and the official hashtag of the event is #ViennaMajor.
