Find out where and when the stars will be competing in 2017…
The 2017 international beach volleyball season is going to be epic! How do we know that? Just take a look at the full schedule of tournaments below!
The highlights of the calendar include the spectacular four Swatch Major Series stops, the Swatch World Tour Finals and, of course, the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Vienna.
But there’s loads of more excitement and drama on the sand guaranteed in a mouthwatering schedule that covers eight glorious months of world class beach volleyball.
The list features 23 events across 18 different countries, with the first tournament, the Fort Lauderdale Major, kicking off the season in style in February.
Ahead of the new season the FIVB, the sport’s governing body, has introduced a new five-star structure, which will see all events on the World Tour assigned a rating between one and five. Five-star events – which include all four Swatch Major Series stops – and four-star events have been designated as elite events, while three, two and one-star tournaments have been designed to aid the development of beach volleyball in as many places around the globe as possible.
So remember to put all the dates in your diaries – especially those on the Swatch Major Series stops! Hurry up February! See you at the beach!
