Nothing is too hot to handle for beach volleyball stars!

The Olympic torch is lit ahead of Rio 2016

What a week to be alive!

Not only is it the Queen of England’s 90th birthday today, but on Wednesday it was also the 69th anniversary of the FIVB – the governing body of beach volleyball!

And, to top the mother of all-important weeks, the Olympic flame was lit in Greece on Thursday ahead of the games in Rio this summer – and former Brazilian volleyball star Giovane Gávio – the winner of two Olympic gold medals – was on hand to carry it!

Of course it goes without saying that beach volleyball will be one of the biggest highlights of the two weeks during the games – will there be a more iconic image in sport than the sight of beach volleyball on the Copacabana? We don’t think so!

So to celebrate the beginning of the journey for the Olympic flame we got our design wizards here at Swatch Major Series to wave their magic wands at two pictures from our Swatch Major Series tour last year. We hope you like them!

But what we want – what we really, really want – are YOUR examples of volleyball stars keeping a loft the Olympic torch on court! So why not send us your best attempts to our inbox and we’ll publish the best online!
