A warm welcome and big shout out to our brand new mascot
As you know, Swatch Major Series has been searching for a new mascot.
Because this endeavor can be quite challenging, we appealed to the only people more into the sport than ourselves (and the players)… the fans. We asked you to help us and boy, did you help us.
We received entries from all across the globe, from Germany to Thailand and even Japan! You guys are the bomb-diggity.

We were overwhelmed by the interest and support and of course not surprised by the awesome display of creativity. Our judges deliberated day and night (because actually we wanted all the mascots) until they just couldn’t anymore, and then there were three. So we put it up to a vote.
After a neck on neck race, the winner by a unanimous 9731 votes is none other than ….

Our friendly half fox, half kangaroo was submitted by Industrial Design student: Anna Taferner all the way from the school Euregio HTBLVA in Ferlach, Carinthia.
She chose the name `Marnin´ because it means “One Who Creates Joy” and that is certainly evident from the amount of votes our `Fangaroo´ received.
Marnin will be making his big debut at the Poreč Major on 28 June 2016, and Miss Taferner will be walking away with: two VIP Tickets to the Poreč Major, two custom Swatch Major Series volleyballs signed by the biggest names in Beach Volleyball, two player’s jerseys for her and her companion and finally, on top of that, an awesome two-night stay in Poreč where it will all be going down – the total value of her prize adding up to a grand total of EUR 3,000.
And to our other amazing finalists – Sunny & Wave by S Panuwat and Sunny the Lion by Anna-Lena H., thank you so much, you guys rock and your mascot submissions were awesome.
