Pool Rounds continue and we are appealing to the champions to bring it…
Brazil, the South American home of beach volleyball, has been the place to be as the third consecutive World Tour Tournament is underway – the Vitoria Open.
This tournament follows the Maceio Open and the Rio Grand Slam which took place earlier this year. Competing athletes, hoping to qualify for this year’s Summer Olympics, have an unpassable opportunity to practice in the host country and not to mention the host climate, almost like a dress rehearsal for the real thing.
Pool matches got underway yesterday and are set to continue today on Camburi beach.
Current FIVB World champions: Alison/Bruno Schmidt and Swatch World Tour Finals Winners Larissa/Talita seem to be off to a good start winning the first of their pool games yesterday. This is great because the two teams had rather a disappointing run at the Rio Grand Slam where Larissa/Talita placed 9th and Alison/Bruno Schmidt placed 5th (we think the Grand Slam was just a warm up for the champions), now the two Brazilian teams need to bring their game faces as many a team would love the opportunity to say “We beat the world champions”.
Alison/Bruno Schmidt – Swatch Major Series is watching you.
