The South American Volleyball Confederation’s beach volleyball council met in Rio de Janeiro on November 21 to set out the structure of the South American Tour and how it integrates with the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour in 2015-2016 and 2017.

Argentina was announced as the host of the South America Continental Cup final from June 21-26, from which one team per gender will win a place at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games, while the teams that finish second and third will have one last chance at the final qualifier that Sochi in Russia will host.

The Council also decided on the nine venues for the South American Beach Volleyball Tour and the fact that placings in 2015-16 and 2016-17 will help qualification for the 2017 World Championships. They will also be used to decide who qualifies for the South America Beach Games which are due to take place in Pimentel, Peru from December 4-13.

The top five ranked teams per gender will also qualify for the Lima 2019, Pan-American Games.
