Dutch superstars Reinder Nummerdor and Christiaan Varenhorst were elected for best sports couple of the year in the Netherlands. The well experienced Olympian Nummerdor and his team mate Varenhorst just added another trophy to their stunning year of 2015. Besides the silver medal at the World Championship in their home country and the bronze medal at the European championships in Klagenfurt, Austria, they also added numerous victories and top 5 ranks monst the Swatch Major Series tour stops and FIVB World Tour Grand Slams and Opens.

Another sporting election was made across the Atlantic Ocean in the USA, where Olympic silver medalist April Ross and high energized Nick Lucena were voted best beach volleyball players by USA Volleyball. The two players are not only very successful in their home countries; they are also very victorious around the globe. At the recent Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals in Fort Lauderdale, Nick Lucena and his team mate Phil Dalhausser grabbed the silver medal and were euphorically celebrated by the audience.

We can’t wait to see all the athletes again at the Swatch Major Series sequel in 2016.
