A Mini Volleyball Festival was held at Al-Awael Schools in Ramallah, Palestine, on Saturday last week.
The organization of the Mini Volleyball Festival was supervised by the Palestine Volleyball Federation in collaboration with Al-Awael Schools for girls. More than 100 girls between the ages of 8 and 13 participated in the event. Principal Futna Al-Basoumi thanked the Palestine Volleyball Federation represented by coach Rani Asfour for their tireless and continuous efforts in developing and spreading the game among the youths.
At the end of the festival, coach Asfour was awarded a certificate of appreciation. The referees and teachers also received medals and all the young participants were awarded certificates of participation. Coach Asfour and the Palestine Volleyball Federation continue to spread the game in Palestine despite the political and social problems in the region. A women’s championship was held in Bethlehem in June, a five-day FIVB VCP Referees Course took place in August and Mini Volleyball Festivals are held on a regular basis.
Wouldn’t it be terrific to see Palestinian girls play at one of our Swatch Major Series tour stops one day?
