Dutch duo Marleen Van Iersel and Manon Flier have ended their professional beach volleyball partnership. The news was announced on their shared Instagram account over the weekend.

The pair joined forces in November 2016 and since then it’s been non-stop beach volleyball ride.

Flier/Van Iersel competed at a few events on the FIVB World Tour including Swatch Major Series tour stops: Fort Lauderdale, Poreč and Gstaad. The duo also competed at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships Vienna 2017 presented by A1 and ranked an impressive 17^th.

The two ladies are also devoted mothers. Marleen Van Iersel and partner Myrthe Ramond tied the knot in September last year and welcomed beautiful baby Julian this summer all the while Flier and Van Iersel maintained a busy beach volleyball season.

Manon Flier is married to Dutch pro beach volleyball player Reinder Nummerdor and they have a little daughter together. Due to personal reasons, Flier made the difficult decision to retire from pro beach volleyball.

We would like to thank everyone for supporting us this last year! Family, friends, fans and sponsors @delacooperatie @obrigado_europe @nikevision It's been a rollercoaster! We made a lot of progression and it would have been great to continue our journey and see where it would lead us. Unfortunately Manon made the difficult decision to not continue with beachvolleyball. Combining this sport with her family turned out to not be worth it. I would like to thank you Manon for the past year. I loved battling beside you and enjoyed your energy! I wish you the best for all new adventures to come! I will be looking for a new partner. I'm not done with this beautiful sport!
