The latest social media shenanigans from the stars
One of the great things about social media is that the secret lives of beach volleyball stars are no longer secret!
They give us the chance to see into their lives on and off the sand from their own personal perspective, whether that’s at Halloween or painting!
Luckily for us their posts always make us smile in some shape or form – whether they are in serious beach volleyball action or in funny, off-court mode.
Take this week for example. We’ve got stars at the Brazilian Grand Prix, at awards ceremonies and at Disneyland!
First off we head to Brazil where Olympic and Swatch World Tour Finals champions Alison and Bruno rubbed shoulders with the stars ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Alison even posed with a selfie with the race’s eventual winner, Britain’s Lewis Hamilton and third place, Max Verstappen.

Turning our attention back to beach volleyball, new Swiss team on the block Anouk Vergé-Dépré and Joana Heidrich were in a happy mood after completing their first week of training since becoming a new partnership.

It seems more and more of the legendary athletes of the World Tour are back among training ahead of the 2017 season.
In the case of Olympic and Swatch World Tour Finals champion Laura Ludwig, she got her first touch of a volleyball while doing this photoshoot…

Now we all know that being a beach volleyball player isn’t all sunshine and sand. I mean, yes it is MOST of the time, but being away from home on tour for most of the year can be difficult.
For Czech sensation Marketa Slukova, her Instagram post summed up one of the many issues players face…some out of date medicine!
To je tak, když jste 300 dní v roce na cestách a nemáte čas si probrat domácí lékárnu..no a pak tam nemají být poklady z roku 2009🙈Ty vyschlé kapky do nosu z roku 2004 snad ani nestojí za řeč, nee?⛑😂 This happens when you travel 300 days out of 365 and you don't have time to sort out you home pharmacy..I found some treasures with expiration date june 2009‼️😂 Dried nose drops from 2004 are not even worth mentioning, right😊? #upsss #mybad #doctor #zhor #pharmacy #tobudetaknadvěhoďky #pořádek #cleaning #offseasonduties

Keeping with the beach volleyball theme, we recently spoke to Nadine Zumkehr about her retirement – and that led to one of the sport’s heroes paying tribute to the Swiss star.

Nadine was voted most inspirational in the FIVB’s end-of-season awards but Italy’s Daniele Lupo shared his delight of winning an award for best attitude in his homeland. Well done Daniele!

Annnnnnnnnnnd finally…it can be difficult for some of our taller beach volleyball stars in everyday life. Usually it involves transport – and usually a lack of legroom on various modes of transport. However, for Phil Dalhausser, the giant 6ft 9in American legend found a trip to Disneyland wonderful and painful in equal measure!
It's a Small World.....literally when you're 6'9, it is a very small world. Kids loved it...daddy's knees, not so much. #tallpeopleproblems #anythingforthem @oakley @redbull @rapidforcephs @66audio
